The owners of this historic home in Greensboro's Westerwood neighborhood wanted to create an outdoor space that reflected the character of their home, built in 1921 while offering modern functionality.

We designed a two-level deck that flows like a natural extension of the home's design and creates multiple options for outdoor relaxing and entertaining. The owners also wanted a new detached garage and workshop space that felt authentic to the style of the home. We designed the addition to complement both the deck and the original home to transform the backyard space without compromising the home's aesthetic.

Tied together with the gorgeous green color and the clean lines of the 1920s architectural style, the backyard feels contemporary without being anachronistic to this historic home.
